A series of bomb blasts have struck communities in the Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that at least two bombs, suspected to have been planted by bandits, detonated at different locations within the district.
The explosions took place along the road between Dansadau and Malamawa, as well as on Malele Road.
One resident, Nuhu Babangida, recounted how passengers in a Canter truck narrowly escaped death after the vehicle, loaded with grains, triggered one of the bombs.
The truck was on its way to the Dansadau weekly market on Friday when the explosion occurred.
However, no one was harmed, and Babangida also noted that the blasts on Malamawa and Malele roads happened simultaneously.
This is the third explosion in the Dansadau Emirate in just five days, following similar attacks on Sunday and Wednesday.
On Wednesday, at least 12 people were killed when an explosive device destroyed a bridge at Tashar Sahabi. The victims, traveling in an overloaded Golf car from Maru Local Government to Gusau, were caught in the blast at around 8 a.m.
The Zamfara State police command has yet to issue a statement on the recent explosions.
