Presidential election: Mahama pledges passport offices in all Ghana districts to ease access, create jobs

A youth activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Daniel Selorm Nyakpo, has announced plans by the party’s Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, to establish passport offices in every district across Ghana.

The initiative aims to simplify passport acquisition while creating permanent employment opportunities for the country’s youth. Speaking on behalf of the NDC, Mr. Nyakpo stated that Mahama intends to expand the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (MFARI) to make passport services more accessible to Ghanaians, particularly those in remote areas.

Currently, residents in districts such as Agona, Effutu, and Gomoa must travel to cities like Cape Coast or Accra to obtain passports. This process, Nyakpo explained, is costly and time-consuming for many Ghanaians.

“The establishment of district passport offices will not only improve access to vital services but also provide jobs for young people,” he said.

Nyakpo lauded Mahama’s track record in delivering national projects, including the E-Block schools and major infrastructure developments, expressing confidence in his ability to secure funding for this initiative.

“John Dramani Mahama is the leader we can trust to bring opportunities to the youth of Ghana,” he added, urging citizens to vote for Mahama in the December 7 elections to pave the way for a brighter future.

The proposal has been described as a strategic move to empower Ghana’s youth and enhance public service delivery.
