Dibia Isaiah, a loader and the Chief Security Officer of Alesa Kingdom, Rivers State, has confirmed that the Port Harcourt Refinery, recently relaunched by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), is fully operational and actively producing fuel.
Speaking at the refinery, Isaiah dismissed rumours claiming that the facility was not functioning.
“The refinery is working, and I am a testimony to that,” he said.
“This morning alone, I have already loaded four trucks. We are delighted that business has finally commenced after many years.”
Isaiah attributed the rumours to individuals he described as “enemies of the refinery” who, according to him, aim to discredit the management and the refinery’s managing director.
“These bad persons want to run the MD and the refinery down, but by the special grace of God, they will be conquered,” he stated emphatically.
He called on Nigerians to ignore the false claims and assured the public of the refinery’s steady operation.
“The people of Rivers State are happy, the Alesa people are happy, and I am happy. The refinery is operational and running smoothly,” he emphasized.
The Port Harcourt Refinery’s relaunch has been met with optimism from residents of Rivers State, with Isaiah affirming that production is ongoing and consistent.
“I am very busy during this period because the refinery is steadily producing. It’s baffling why some people would spread lies that it isn’t working,” he said.
Isaiah’s comments reflect a growing confidence among stakeholders that the refinery’s operations will boost economic activity and fuel availability in the region and Nigeria in general.
