A fire erupted early Monday morning, causing extensive damage to the market in Trademore Estate, a well-known area near the Umar Musa Yar’Adua Airport Road in Abuja.
The exact cause of the fire remains uncertain, but a resident named Joe, who was informed about the incident around 4 a.m., speculated that an electrical fault might have been involved.
“Although we can’t be sure, an electrical issue is a possibility,” Joe stated.
He explained that attempts were made to reach both the Federal Fire Service and the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service, but the intensity of the fire posed significant challenges.
According to Joe, residents eventually contacted the fire service team from Dunamis Church, who arrived at the scene by 5 a.m.
He later confirmed that firefighters from the Federal Fire Service stations at EFCC and Sauka managed to bring the blaze under control after two hours of efforts.
