Civil servants in Ondo State will begin receiving their November salaries, including the newly approved N73,000 minimum wage, by next week.
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ondo State chapter, disclosed this development, explaining that the delay was caused by a technical issue that has now been resolved.
While a nationwide strike is being planned by the NLC and the Trade Union Congress to protest delayed wage implementation in other states, Ondo workers will not participate, as negotiations with the state government have been successfully concluded.
“This payment fulfills Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to implement the new minimum wage starting from November 2024,” he said.
