Fubara pledges to defend mandate in Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has reiterated his commitment to safeguarding the mandate entrusted to him by the people of the state.

Governor Fubara made this pledge during the funeral service of the late Mrs. Erefori Basi Maeba, mother of Senator Lee Maeba, held in Luuwa Community, Khana Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event, Fubara assured the people that his administration remains dedicated to prioritizing their welfare.

“Our government will always place the interest of the people first,” he stated. “We will not take for granted the support and mandate you have given us. We will defend it and work tirelessly to make you proud.”

He also emphasized the importance of living an exemplary life that leaves a positive legacy for future generations. Fubara encouraged residents to focus on activities that contribute to societal growth, promote peace, and uplift others.

Reflecting on family values, the governor highlighted the significance of honoring parents during their lifetime. “It is essential to honor our parents while they are still with us. That is what truly matters,” he said.

Fubara praised the late Mrs. Maeba’s children for maintaining a close bond with their mother and acknowledged their efforts in celebrating her life. He expressed gratitude to all who attended the event to support Senator Maeba and his family, underscoring the value of living a fulfilled and impactful life.

The funeral service was graced by several notable figures, including Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti, former Rivers State Governors Chibuike Amaechi and Sir Celestine Omehia, as well as former Deputy Governor Engr. Tele Ikuru.
