Benue APC crisis: Obekpa congratulates Austin Agada on resounding high-court victory

Must read

In a landmark judgment, the Benue State High Court in Makurdi has nullified the controversial seven-man caretaker committee established by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) in Benue State.

The court upheld the legitimacy of Comrade Austin Agada as the substantive state chairman of the party.

Delivering the judgment earlier today, Justice T.A. Kume declared the dissolution of the elected State Working Committee unconstitutional, citing a violation of the APC constitution and the applicants’ fundamental rights to fair hearing.

The ruling was described as a reaffirmation of internal party democracy and the necessity of following due process within political organizations.

Reacting to the judgment, Arc Anthony Ejeh Obekpa, a distinguished architect and a prominent APC leader in Benue State, congratulated Comrade Austin Agada and the APC-led State Executive Committee on their legal victory.

Obekpa commended the judiciary for upholding justice, describing the ruling as a testament to its role as the “last hope of the common man.”

Obekpa urged all aggrieved party members to embrace dialogue and prioritize unity for the collective progress of the APC in Benue State.

“This judgment is not just a victory for Comrade Austin Agada and his team but a win for the entire APC family in the state,” he said.

He called on stakeholders to respect the court’s verdict and seize the opportunity to rebuild trust and strengthen the party’s internal democracy.

Obekpa expressed optimism that unity within the APC would pave the way for significant political achievements in Benue and beyond.

Concluding his statement, Obekpa encouraged Comrade Agada and his team to lead with fairness and transparency, emphasizing that the party’s success depends on bridging divides and fostering inclusivity.

The judgment marks a significant moment for the APC in Benue State, setting a precedent for upholding constitutional principles and internal democracy within political parties.
