Former Women Affairs Minister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has returned to court after being dismissed from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
Kennedy-Ohanenye explained that she was attending court to advocate for a four-year-old child who was reportedly assaulted and abused by a teacher.
A member of the Nigerian Bar Association, she is also the founder and CEO of the law firm Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye & Co, where she provides legal counsel to both individuals and businesses.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1996, and became a licensed attorney in Nigeria in 1997. In 2002, she furthered her education with a Master of Laws from the University of Abuja.
Appointed by President Tinubu in August 2023, she succeeded Pauline Tallen, who stepped down due to health reasons. However, Kennedy-Ohanenye, along with other former ministers, was removed from office in October 2024.
A video posted on The Cable’s X account shows the former minister in court attire.
