Ace Nigerian Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye has discussed the otherside of fame, characterizing it as both a privilege and a hurdle.
In a conversation with Saturday Beats, she articulated her viewpoint noting that she has been able to receive favours from people through his fame.
She said; “Fame has blessed me, to be honest. I have been able to receive favours from people. Yet, I have managed to stay grounded and not let the fame get into my head. I don’t see myself as a famous person. I don’t even like the word ‘celebrity.’ I prefer being referred to as a ‘public figure.’”
Reflecting on the transformation of Nollywood, the award-winning actress conveyed her enthusiasm regarding the advancements within the industry,
She said; “I am very happy with the changes I’m seeing in Nollywood. People are now taking their time to shoot better-quality content. I’m really impressed with the improvement in Nollywood. I would love to see more. I pray we can have a Tyler Perry-style studio where we can walk in and shoot different projects.”
When discussing her path as a filmmaker on YouTube, Ademoye credited her achievements to divine intervention.
Looking to the future, the actress noted, “I don’t see myself the way people see me. I feel like I’m just starting. There’s a lot I haven’t done. Not that I’m rushing, but I haven’t directed my film yet. I haven’t made my cinema debut.”
