Nigeria Nollywood actor and movie producer, Bolanle Ninalowo has revealed insights into how he navigated early career challenges to attain success in the Nigerian film industry.
In an episode of the ‘Off The Top’ podcast, Ninalowo highlighted how his initial setbacks ultimately paved the way for his achievements in entertainment.
When queried about his drive to persist, the 44-year-old noted that moments of adversity can reveal unforeseen opportunities for personal growth.
While reflecting on his journey in Nollywood, Ninalowo attributed his eventual success to the lessons learned from his early failures.
“When you fall flat on your face and you are backed against the wall, that is when you get the biggest opportunities to discover yourself. I tell people that when I came to Nollywood, the secrets of my success are buried in my failures,” he said.
His path into Nollywood according to him was not straightforward. He initially started as a producer but encountered setbacks. He then explored a career in music, only to realize it was not his true passion. Undaunted, he returned to acting in the mid-2000s.
His major breakthrough occurred with the 2015 film ‘Desperate Baby Mamas,’ which catapulted him to prominence.
Since that time, the actor from Ikorodu has featured in numerous successful films, demonstrating his versatility in both Yoruba and English cinema.
Among his notable performances are roles in ‘Fate of Alakada,’ ‘Coming From Insanity,’ ‘Breaded Life,’ ‘Lakatabu,’ and ‘Alter Date.’
