NCC, NASENI explore partnership to strengthen tech, telecom, manufacturing sectors

In a bid to establish Nigeria as a leader in technology across Africa, senior officials from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) recently held discussions in Abuja to explore advancements in technology and commercialization.

Dr Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice-Chairman and CEO of NCC expressed his satisfaction with the collaborative session on his official social media account.

He thanked Khalil Halilu, the Executive Vice-Chairman and CEO of NASENI, for the productive meeting, adding, “It was a pleasure to host you at NCC and learn about NASENI’s innovative strides in technology and commercialization.”

Maida also highlighted the potential for further collaboration, especially in promoting renewable energy solutions for telecommunications and the local production of affordable smartphones for Nigeria’s expanding population.

In a similar vein, Khalil Halilu of NASENI remarked on the importance of the meeting, emphasizing that aligning the strengths of NASENI and NCC was vital for creating a robust digital and manufacturing ecosystem in Nigeria.

He referred to the meeting as a crucial step toward positioning Nigeria as a technological powerhouse in Africa. Halilu also expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and productive discussions with Maida.
