The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media to the FCT Minister, Mr. Lere Olayinka and an Investigative Journalist, Mr. Jackson Ude, have engaged in verbal war on social media.
Afripost had reported that Jackson Ude, in a post on his verified X handle, had alleged that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was barred from Aso Rock when the Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi visited President Bola Tinubu.
Jackson claimed that Wike was drunk when he received the Indian Prime Minister at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Saturday.
Clearing the air, Wike, in a statement issued by his media aide, Lere Olayinka, countered the claim, insisting that the FCT Minister, received the Indian Prime Minister as directed by President Tinubu.
Conversly, Olayinka said Wike was on Sunday morning “at the hotel to perform his duty of leading the visiting Prime Minister to the Presidential Villa.”
After the brouhaha, Lere Olayinka yesterday released a court order on his X page which fined Ude for an offense.
He wrote: “#Jackson Ude: The Blackmailer and Extortionists
“In faraway USA, serial liar self-appointed investigative journalist, Jackson Ude, was fined $10,000 by a District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
“For releasing this to the public last night, Jackson Ude is fuming.
“Let him start the war nah. Him never know say he has picked on a wrong customer.
In a knee-jerk reaction, Ude replied the FCT Minister’s Aide, saying ” Lere, if you want to war with me, get ready. I will destroy you and your drunken Master and you will lose your job. I am not your mate in Journalism.
Ude obviously infuriated added that “You will need to return to school to handle me. Your poor education won’t allow you understand what you just posted. But hey, let’s go there. I guess you don’t need a job.
