The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) has announced the release of the first batch of 5,600 newly recruited primary school teachers and 80 caregivers in the state.
This development was disclosed by the SUBEB Chairman, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, during a press briefing in Ibadan. Dr Adeniran revealed that the list had been approved by Governor Seyi Makinde as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s education system.
According to the SUBEB Chairman, the newly recruited teachers and caregivers were selected from a pool of successful applicants in a recent recruitment exercise conducted by OYOSUBEB.
Dr Adeniran urged all applicants to check the list of successful candidates, which will be available on the state job portal starting Saturday, November 23, 2024. Candidates can access the portal via jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng.
He further stated that the selected individuals would undergo a verification exercise at the SUBEB headquarters, with specific dates and additional details to be communicated to them soon.
Highlighting the integrity of the recruitment process, Dr Adeniran emphasized that the exercise was merit-based and free from political, religious, ethnic, or gender biases.
“The recruitment was devoid of favouritism and focused solely on the qualifications and merits of applicants. This demonstrates our commitment to fairness and excellence,” he said.
The SUBEB Chairman encouraged the newly recruited teachers to view their employment as an opportunity to serve, urging them to remain diligent and dedicated to their responsibilities.
He also assured the public that the recruitment process would continue, with more successful applicants expected to be engaged in subsequent batches.
The initiative reflects the Oyo State Government’s dedication to improving the quality of education across its primary schools while addressing teacher shortages.
