Face your job in Abuja – Ex-Senator tells Wike

Must read

Former Senator John Azuta Mbata, who represented Rivers East in the National Assembly, has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to allow Governor Siminalayi Fubara govern Rivers State without interference.

Speaking on the ongoing political rift between Wike and his successor, Mbata urged the former governor to focus on his ministerial responsibilities in Abuja and let the sitting governor execute his mandate in Rivers State.

“He is a minister now and doing well. All we pray is for him to continue succeeding in his role in Abuja while allowing Fubara to carry out his duties in Rivers State,” Mbata stated.

The former senator emphasized the need to support Governor Fubara’s administration, noting that every leader should have their turn to serve without undue influence.

“We are unwavering in our support for the government of Fubara because leadership is about taking turns. This is Sir Siminalayi Fubara’s time to demonstrate his capacity to move Rivers State forward,” he added.

Mbata also recalled his role in Wike’s early political career, claiming he helped install him as Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Council in 1998 despite significant challenges.
