Celebrity businessman and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has on Tuesday joined voices with Senator Rochas Okorocha to plead for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
His plea added a notable voice to the growing demand for Kanu’s release, noting the need for unity and understanding in the nation’s political landscape, especially the South East.
AFRIPOST gathered that Okorocha had during a valedictory session to honour late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah pleaded with senate president Akpabio to facilitate the release of Kanu.
Sharing the video of Okorocha making the plea on Instagram, Chief Priest articulated that the Igbo people have been largely cut off from their hometowns since the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu.
He expressed that the ongoing unrest and lack of access to their ancestral lands have deeply affected the community.
He firmly stated that only the release of Kanu can pave the way for peace and stability in the South East region, emphasizing the urgent need for resolution to restore normalcy and foster unity among the people.
He wrote, ‘’@senator_akpabio Those Plea From Owelle Ndi Igbo Is All We Ask For Our Dear Inlaw, Let OHAMADIKE Ndi Igbo, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Come Back Home Soon, It’s Almost Five Years Now We All Have Not Had Access To Our Home Town, Only His Release Can Restore Peace Back In Our Region. We Have Lost So Much Lives & Properties We Need To Build Back SouthEast ASAP Make Una Help Us.”
Recall that the South East region has been plagued by incessant insecurity since Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and detention in June 2021.
His ongoing legal battles have drawn significant attention, as he has been appearing in court to face charges related to treason.
