‘Yahoo girl on alter’: Reno Omokri under fire over derogatory remark on female pastor

Must read

Social media personality Reno Omokri has come under fire for a controversial comment where he referred to Pastor Becky Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre as a “Yahoo girl on the altar” in response to her statements on tithing.

This remark has led to significant backlash, notably from the Nigeria Youths Frontiers and Peace Advocates (NYFPA).

In a statement released by Samuel Geofrey, the National Publicity Secretary of NYFPA, the group condemned Omokri’s comments as “inflammatory, unfounded, and highly irresponsible,” accusing him of disrespecting Christianity and degrading public discourse.

The statement read, “These remarks are offensive to millions of Nigerians who hold their faith and spiritual leaders in high regard.”

NYFPA further criticized Omokri for using divisive language to gain attention, noting inconsistencies in his career, personal life, and political stances.

The group stressed that Omokri’s comments are not only an attack on Pastor Becky Enenche but also on countless Nigerians who value their religious beliefs.

NYFPA called on Nigerians to reject such divisive language and instead promote dialogue, respect, and unity.

Reaffirming its commitment to peace, NYFPA described Omokri’s remarks as harmful to social harmony.

Omokri, known for his provocative views on religious and political topics, now faces renewed calls for accountability in public discourse, particularly on sensitive faith-related issues.
