Pastor Adeboye runs business centres, not religious institutions – Falana blasts Daddy GO

Prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana has criticized Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), claiming that Adeboye’s churches operate more like business centres than places of worship.

Speaking in an interview with Sahara TV, Falana expressed concern about the increasing commercialization of religion in Nigeria.

His remarks followed Adeboye’s recent announcement of plans to expand the number of RCCG churches nationwide.

According to Adeboye, this expansion aims to make a church accessible within walking distance for everyone in the country.

Adeboye has recently faced public scrutiny, particularly for his remarks on Nigeria’s foreign exchange situation.

He attributed the naira’s recent stability to divine intervention, stating that without it, the currency could have fallen to ₦10,000 per $1.

These statements were made during the Special Holy Ghost Congress in Abuja, where Adeboye credited his prayers, along with those of his congregation, for preventing a further drop in the naira’s value.
