Damagum accused of meeting Tinubu, blamed for party’s loss in Ondo election

Must read

Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, is facing criticism over an alleged private meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

Kola Ologbondiyan, a former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, has expressed disappointment with Damagum, accusing him of lacking commitment to the party’s success.

“How can the leader of the primary opposition party be accused of meeting with the President from the ruling government and remain silent?” Ologbondiyan questioned.

Ologbondiyan is calling on party leaders to step in and address what he sees as a crisis within the PDP.

“It is alarming that the Acting National Chairman is overseeing the party’s disintegration,” he commented.

He further claimed that Ambassador Damagum shows minimal interest in ensuring the party’s success in elections.

Ologbondiyan cautioned that, without a permanent National Chairman, upcoming elections in states like Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun might face similar setbacks to those recently experienced in Kogi, Imo, and Ondo.
