In Ondo State, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were allegedly recorded distributing N3,000 to residents, reportedly to encourage them to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The video, shared by Kayode Babayomi, Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Oyo State, was seen by AFRIPOST. It shows APC officials handing out money to voters at Ward 3, Units 11 and 12 in Ilu Tuntun, located within the Okitipupa Local Government Area.

One voter on the video mentioned she received N3,000, but when Babayomi questioned the APC members, they denied it and quickly left the scene.

AFRIPOST gathered instances of alleged vote-buying involving both APC and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members at polling unit 007 in Ajagba Ward 2, Irele Local Government Area.

In this area, party representatives reportedly issued signed slips to voters as proof of their vote, which they could later exchange for money. Although some voters confirmed they would receive cash in return, they were uncertain of the amount.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, the APC’s governorship candidate, cast his vote early in the day at Igbo Ward 4 in Obenla, Ilaje Local Government Area, arriving around 8:46 a.m. with his security detail. Similarly, Agboola Ajayi, the PDP governorship candidate, cast his ballot at Polling Unit 004 in Apoi Ward 2, Ese Odo Local Government Area.

Ajayi voiced concerns about the electoral process, describing delays and alleged irregularities.

He called on Nigerians to demand the resignation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, citing widespread reports of vote-buying and claiming that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices were malfunctioning.

He also accused security personnel stationed near his polling unit of intimidating voters and claimed federal authorities were using security forces to pressure voters.

Ajayi appealed for a fair, transparent, and credible election, stressing that voters deserve a better future free from political manipulation.
