FAAN to temporarily cut power supply at Lagos Airport for maintenance

Must read

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a temporary power outage at the International Terminal 2 of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The power shutdown, set to take place on Saturday from 1:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., is part of planned maintenance aimed at enhancing terminal operations.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, and shared with the press on Friday.

According to the statement, the scheduled power cut has been carefully planned to minimize disruptions to flight operations and passenger services during the maintenance period.

The authority also noted that Royal Air Maroc, an airline affected by the maintenance timeframe, will temporarily move its check-in and arrival processes to International Terminal 1.

Passengers traveling during these hours are advised to cooperate with airport staff and follow any additional instructions provided.

The statement added, “Airlines, security personnel, and concessionaires have been informed accordingly.”

Despite the temporary shutdown, FAAN reassured travelers that operations would continue smoothly.

“FAAN apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause to our stakeholders and passengers. Ensuring the safety and security of all airport users remains our top priority,” the statement concluded.
