BREAKING: Indian PM Modi to meet President Tinubu in Abuja

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to meet with President Bola Tinubu on Sunday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, marking his first official visit to Nigeria.

This occasion will be the first time in nearly 20 years that an Indian leader has visited the country.

Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga announced on Saturday that Modi would be arriving in Abuja later in the day.

This visit follows Dr. Manmohan Singh’s trip in 2007, which established a strategic partnership between India and Nigeria.

During their discussions, Tinubu and Modi will explore ways to strengthen ties between the two nations, focusing on areas such as trade, investment, technology, and cultural exchange.

The two leaders are also expected to sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to formalize cooperation in key sectors.
