APC’s Aiyedatiwa defeats PDP candidate in own polling unit

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the ongoing Ondo gubernatorial election, has secured a major victory by defeating his main rival, Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at Agboola’s own polling unit.

At Igbo Ward 4, PU 5 in Ilaje Local Government Area, the APC recorded 128 votes, while the PDP garnered only 3 votes.

Apart from Agboola, Aiyedatiwa is also up against Olorunfemi Festus of the Labour Party and Abbas Mimiko of the Zenith Labour Party.

Earlier, after casting his vote, Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in the electoral process, highlighting its peaceful nature and the impressive voter turnout. He attributed his optimism to the extensive work his administration has done in the past 10 months, saying, “We have visited all 18 local governments and numerous communities.

”The voters know who they want, and I believe I am well-positioned to win based on our efforts since I took office.”
