The National Judicial Council (NJC) has imposed a one-year suspension on Justice G.C. Aguma of the Rivers State High Court and Justice A.O. Nwabunike of the Anambra State High Court, prohibiting them from performing any judicial duties.
According to a report by Channels Television on Friday, November 15, 2024, the NJC also placed both judges on a two-year watchlist following their suspension, which will be served without pay.
The NJC’s decision came after its 107th meeting, led by Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, held on November 13 and 14, 2024.
