The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued a fresh directive to banks, mandating them to prioritize cash disbursement through Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).
In a statement released on Friday, Solaja Olayemi, the acting Director of the Currency Operations Department at the CBN, cautioned banks against supplying naira notes to individuals involved in illegal currency hawking.
He further emphasized that any bank found engaging in such practices will face strict penalties.
