At 65, he lost his battle with liver disease, leaving a huge gap in the industry.

His colleague, Oluwaseun Adejumobi, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, leading to a wave of grief from fans and fellow performers.

He wrote, “Heavens’s Gain Again. General Has Gone to rest.”

Baba Gbenro was a prominent name in the gospel film industry, recognized for his excellence.

He significantly influenced the success of Mount Zion Faith Ministries’ popular series, Abattoir, by portraying characters that resonated with the audience.

His heartfelt performances combined deep emotion with strong morals, leaving viewers inspired and thoughtful.

Baba Gbenro’s impact went beyond just films. He founded and led the Calvary Movies Drama Ministry in Ogbomoso, becoming a key player in the world of gospel cinema.

His influence grew with the launch of Calvary Movies Television, where he was the CEO, promoting stories that combined faith with engaging narratives.

He also supported young talents, helping to create a new wave of gospel actors and producers who continue his legacy.
