Boko Haram strikes in Borno, kills three persons, kidnaps several others

In another violent incident attributed to rising terrorism, at least three people lost their lives, and more than a dozen fishermen were kidnapped in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State.

This attack comes after recent Chadian military operations, during which Chadian troops pursued terrorists who reportedly sought refuge in Kukawa LGA.

According to sources, the assault took place late Sunday night in the secluded village of Malamyawri, within the Cross Kawu ward, near Lake Chad. Suspected Boko Haram insurgents allegedly carried out the raid.

Reports from Daily Trust, citing a member of the civilian Joint Task Force, indicated that the attackers arrived around 11:45 p.m., assembled villagers, and killed two fishermen.

A local official voiced concerns over residents’ security, urging for swift military action, adding that the insurgents were seen carrying weapons and moving on foot.
