Nigerian govt releases 2024 Nursing examination results

The Nigerian government has announced the release of the 2024 Professional Examination results for General and Post Basic Nursing Programmes.

According to a circular from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) dated November 10, 2024, a total of 18,139 candidates passed the examination, representing an 88 percent pass rate.

The results showed varying success rates across different nursing programs. For the General Nursing Programme, 12,534 candidates were successful, achieving an 88 percent pass rate.

The Refresher Program had 42 successful candidates, reflecting a 45 percent pass rate, while the Foreign Trained Nursing (FTN) category had 178 successful candidates, representing a 43 percent pass rate.

The Post Basic Nursing Programmes recorded 4,513 successful candidates, with an impressive 96 percent pass rate.

Lastly, the Community Nursing Programme had 872 successful candidates, reflecting a 74 percent pass rate.

The NMCN has directed the heads of nursing training institutions across Nigeria to access their institutions’ results online beginning Tuesday, November 12, 2024. The announcement was made after receiving approval from the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
