NAF airstrikes eliminate ISWAP commander, fighters

The Nigerian Air Force has reported that an airstrike in Marte Local Government Area eliminated around 50 terrorists, including Bashir Dauda, a senior ISWAP commander.

In a Monday statement, Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa, the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, explained that the precision airstrikes targeted established ISWAP bases in Tumbun Daribiyar, Jubularam, Buluwa, and Tumbu Karfe as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Nigeria’s Northeast.

Ground assessments confirmed that approximately 50 terrorists, including Dauda, were neutralized in the strikes. Furthermore, an ISWAP supply depot in Jubularam, stocked with food supplies like beans, millet, and rice, was destroyed, disrupting a key supply line.

“These successful air operations, which targeted both enemy personnel and logistics, highlight NAF’s commitment to supporting ground forces and strengthening efforts to dismantle terrorist strongholds in the region,” Akinboyewa stated.
