Ghana election: Bawumia uses ‘rented crowd’ in Volta Region campaign – Bedzrah

A Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has pointed out that the recent NPP campaign in the Volta Region was organized with a rented crowd just to deceive Ghanaians that the party has many eligible voters supporting him in the region.

Honourable Bedzrah, the Chairman of the Volta Region Parliamentary Caucus, accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, aka ‘the tree of lies’, of using a “hired crowd” during his recent campaign tour of the Volta Region.

In an interview with the media, Honourable Bedzrah claimed that many individuals were transported in buses to create the illusion of large turnouts at NPP rallies in the region as the bused supporters later complained of the poor food they were served and the difficulties they faced on their return to their destinations.

According to him, the people of the Volta Region are determined to reject a “failed government” and bring back the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President John Mahama for a better future.

He criticized Dr Bawumia’s performance as Vice-President, which has seen the US dollar jumping from less than GH¢4 under His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s administration to over GH¢17.

He labelled the Head of the Economic Management Team of the NPP in the past seven years as incompetent and said he lacked the capability to govern Ghana effectively, hence Ghanaians must vote him out come on December 7, 2024.

“Like all Ghanaians, the people of Volta will not support a failed administration without thinking about the future of Ghanaians but projecting only on Galamsey activities,” Bedzrah asserted.

He observed that the same faces appeared at multiple campaign stops, indicating a lack of genuine local support in the Volta Region.

“He would talk to chiefs in one constituency, then ask those same individuals to move to the next rally,” Hon. Bedzrah noted.

He dismissed Bawumia’s campaign efforts as mere “gymnastics” and “jokes,” stating that the public will ultimately decide on December 7 and the NPP’s hopes for victory will be crushed by a majority of Ghanaians.

“The very good people of Volta Region are ready to vote against these lies, arrogance, corrupt and malfunctioning administration of Nana Akufo-Addo and Tree of Lies (Bawumia),” he said.

Hon. Bedzrah further criticized the NPP government, arguing that it had plunged the country into “hell fire” and that it was only John Mahama God will use to restore Ghana’s progress.

“The Tree of Lies and arrogance are clueless about governance and the people of the Volta Region are prepared to vote against them come 7th December, 2024,” he added.

As the election approaches, tension between the NPP and NDC continues to escalate, with both parties vying for the support of eligible voters in the crucial Volta Region, with Nana Akufo-Addo forgetting what he said during last year’s Akosombo Dam spillage, when some inhabitants of Volta Region became homeless and also lost their businesses.
