Less than a day after President Bola Tinubu ordered the release of detained minors involved in the #EndBadGovernance protests, an Abuja Federal High Court has dismissed the charges against them.
AFRIPOST had reported that the court had granted the minors bail set at N10 million with strict conditions, postponing further proceedings until January 2025.
However, the detention sparked widespread criticism, prompting Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, to request the case file be sent to his office.
Following Tinubu’s directive for Fagbemi to expedite their release, the Federal Government officially withdrew the case on Tuesday. Justice Obiora Egwuatu subsequently dismissed the charges.
