VeryDarkMan to appear in court today for wearing police uniform

Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan or VDM, is set to appear in court today on charges of impersonation.

The allegations arise from a viral video in which VeryDarkMan was filmed wearing a Nigeria Police Force uniform without proper authorization.

In the video, he referred to himself as CSP VeryDarkMan and claimed to be Nigeria’s “number one online police officer.”

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) condemned VeryDarkMan’s actions in a post shared on its X account.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command is leading the prosecution, reaffirming the NPF’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its uniforms and preventing unauthorized use.

The public is urged to stay updated as the case progresses in court.

The NPF stated, “Martins Otse is scheduled to appear in court today following allegations of impersonation linked to the unauthorized use of Nigeria Police Force uniforms in a viral social media video. The FCT Police Command is actively overseeing the case, highlighting the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to preserving the integrity of its symbols and preventing their misuse. We encourage interested individuals to follow the proceedings as they develop.”

Afripost had reported that VeryDarkMan was detained by police on Thursday after complying with an official summons.
