Nigerian social media critic, Martins Otse, well known as Verydarkman, has responded to the police invitation he received recently.
In a video shared on Instagram, the Nigeria Police Force had criticized him for wearing their official uniform without authorization. AFRIPOST had reported.
Otse was captured in a police uniform, calling himself CSP VerydarkMan, claiming to be Nigeria’s “top online police officer.”
The online activist stated that he aims to clean up social media by using his platform to speak against oppressors, including online sellers.
But a statement on Saturday, October 26, police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi said the Force is looking into the source of the police gear shown.
He added that the Force does not agree with the unauthorized representation of its officers in the video.
Recently, the VDM released a video of himself in a carton-colored matching suit, stating he was on his way to the Federal Capital Territory police station to attend an invitation.
The critic was spotted on the sidewalk, stating that he was waiting for his lawyer to arrive so they could head to the station together.
He also mentioned that he chose to cooperate because he understood the nature of the upcoming meeting and wanted to look official.
“I was invited by the police command 2 days ago on the allegation that I used police uniforms to make a video,I am on my way now to clear my name.”
