Transformation of Abuja by 2027 under Tinubu’s leadership inevitable – Wike

Must read

By the time President Bola Ahmed Tinubu leaves office in 2027, Abuja will look completely different, according to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Wike emphasised that the FCT’s infrastructure will have significantly changed by the conclusion of the current government’s tenure in office while reaffirming his commitment to fixing the capital’s severe infrastructural deficiencies.

Wike reportedly said these on Monday during the opening of the War College/Army Checkpoint and associated road improvement project in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council.

He promised that as part of the present administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, all Area Councils in the area will gain from better infrastructure.

He said, “As far as infrastructure is concerned, by the time this administration finishes in 2027, Abuja will be a different thing altogether.

“I can assure you that every Area Council will be treated very well. You don’t need to worry yourself. The Renewed Hope Agenda is real. You can see that a promise made is a promise fulfilled.”

The FCT Minister had earlier urged people to hold the government responsible for how their payments are being used, saying, “You have the right to ask questions when you pay your taxes. With my money, what do you do? No one will bring charges against you for it.”

Wike reiterated his administration’s commitment to ending street begging in Abuja, stating that a new security strategy will be implemented to tackle the persistent problem.
