The ministerial nominations that President Bola Tinubu sent to the Nigerian Senate last week will be reviewed by the Senate today.
AFRIPOST reports that Tinubu wrote to the higher legislative house on October 24 to request that seven ministry nominees be screened and then confirmed.
During Thursday’s plenary, the request—which was in a letter to Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President—was read.
Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment; Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, are among the ministerial nominees.
Others are Dr Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Development; Dr Suwaiba Ahmad, Minister of State, Education; Idi Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development and Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing.
Reports also revealed that the Department of State Services, DSS, has approved the nominations.
On Monday, a few of the nominees were seen submitting their curriculum vitae at Senator Basheer Lado’s office, which serves as the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters.
