The arrest of passenger Brandy Nwatu, who reportedly attacked a Bolt driver in a widely shared video, has been verified by the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT, Police Command.
AFRIPOST reports that a video clip that showed a Bolt driver getting beaten by a passenger in the Galadima neighbourhood of the Federal Capital Territory surfaced on social media last week.
Following a distress call regarding the event, police officers led by Divisional Police Officer Galadima swiftly responded and interfered, according to a statement made by the command spokesman, SP Josephine Adeh.
According to her, the driver, Emmanuel Ebhohimen, was transferred to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi for medical treatment, while the passenger was placed under arrest.

Preliminary enquiries into the incident revealed that a dispute over luggage handling turned into a violent brawl that injured the driver, according to the spokeswoman.
“Nwatu was later released on bail, with a requirement to return for further action on 28th October 2024.
“The FCT Police Command thanks the public for their prompt reporting, which helped to mitigate tensions”, she added.
