Five human skulls have been found with a cemetery employee and two accomplices in Lagos State’s Agege Local Government Area.
Yesterday, the local security personnel arrested the suspects in the cemetery’s Murikaz area, which is close to the Murikaz area.
According to an anonymous police officer at the station, the matter will be forwarded to the State Investigation Department for additional examination.
For a safer neighbourhood, he said, the police are making every effort to guarantee that Agege’s crooks and thugs are caught.
The accused had been collaborating with the cemetery caretaker, Ismaila, to procure body parts for illicit uses, according to eyewitness Mr. Isiaka Amosu.
“The suspects were apprehended by local security operatives in the community who noticed a suspicious bag placed on a fence at the back of the cemetery.
“They were curious about the bag and decided to see who might retrieve it.
“After a few minutes, they observed two men who came to pick up the bag,” he said.
According to Amosu, the suspects were challenged by the security personnel and a few locals, who requested that they open the bag.
“Initially, the suspects claimed the bag only contained leaves, but upon further insistence, they opened it, and found another bag containing five severed human heads inside.
“The suspects admitted to receiving assistance from the cemetery worker, who allegedly conspired with them for financial gain,” he said
The eyewitness also mentioned that the same cemetery employee had to temporarily leave the area after being apprehended by the authorities with a human skull around six months prior.
