Dozens killed as farmers, herders clash in Adamawa

A conflict between farmers and herders in Kukta, Waltandi District, Song Local Government Area, Adamawa State, has allegedly claimed several lives.

After a dispute that had been going on for a few days, the killings happened on Sunday morning.

The situation became more intense when herdsmen stormed several homes, killing five people.

It was reported that many individuals were slain in retribution attacks by both conflicting parties.

To preserve peace and order and restore normalcy, authorities have sent security troops to the affected region in reaction to the conflict.

Security forces have been deployed to the region to capture the perpetrators of the assault, according to confirmation from the state police headquarters.

Dankombo Morris, the Commissioner of Police, directed the State CID’s Yola homicide unit to carry out a comprehensive inquiry into the reported altercation.
