The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has confirmed the deaths of a former ExxonMobil contractor at Villa Marina Hotel and a police officer at Tivoli Hotel, both in Eket.
Police spokesperson ASP Timfon John shared the information with journalists on Friday, noting that the ExxonMobil contractor passed away on Sunday, while the police officer died on October 14.
While the names of the deceased were not disclosed, Ms. John reported that the former ExxonMobil employee died after slipping and hitting his head on the bathroom tiles.
She also confirmed that a thorough investigation had been conducted, and the deceased’s body was released to his family for burial.
The police officer, who had traveled from Lagos to Eket on official duty, was reported to have died from heart failure.
