Stat Nigerian hiphop artiste, Inetimi Timaya Odon, widely recognized as Timaya, has recently discussed the escalating expenses associated with producing music videos, contrasting them with those of previous years.
The seasoned star in a recent interview, tackled the prevalent belief that artistes demand exorbitant fees for their performances, providing insight into the financial challenges faced in the industry.
Timaya disclosed that in the past, the budget for creating a music video was around N1.5 million.
However, he emphasized that current production expenses have dramatically increased, now ranging from N50 million to N100 million for high-quality visuals.
Additionally, Timaya clarified that the significant fees charged by artists encompass not only the music itself but also the expenses related to promoting the song.
