Kebbi State Governor aproves ₦75,000 minimum wage for Civil Servants

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has officially approved a new minimum wage of ₦75,000 for civil servants.

Murtala Usman, chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in Kebbi, announced the decision during a press conference. He stated, “The governor has demonstrated his commitment to the workers in the state. We proposed three wage levels—₦72,000, ₦73,000, and ₦75,000—and he chose the highest, reflecting his support for civil servants.”

Usman also noted that the new salary will take effect this month, with payments expected to be made within the next 72 hours.

Governor Idris’s decision aligns with a growing trend among state governors who have recently announced new wage increases following negotiations between the federal government and the NLC.
