We prioritize security of lives in my regime – Obasanjo chides Tinubu-led govt

Must read

According to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, during his tenure as the president of Nigeria, his administration prioritize security and lives than the current administration governing the country.

The former president stated further that Nigerian insecurity has escalated to worrisome proportions, surpassing the level that existed during his administration

Obasanjo said this on Sunday during the opening of road projects in Bauchi State built by Governor Bala Mohammed.

“The situation of insecurity in Nigeria today is so bad, unlike during our terms in office when we prioritized the security of lives and properties across the country,” Obasanjo stated.

He urged the urgent need for group action to solve the problem and identified a solution. He asserts that detecting and resolving security concerns in local communities requires the use of community policing.

“The best form of security is community policing because everyone knows his/her neighbours within the community. With that, it is very easy to identify the bad eggs,” he explained.

To lower crime rates, Obasanjo asked traditional leaders to support community policing inside their territories. If we are to move forward, we need peace, unity, and collective support in this country,” he stated. “All we need to do is unite and work together to make things right and good in the country again.”
