Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, emphasized yesterday that the ongoing social and economic challenges facing Nigeria should not be attributed to the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking during the 2024 reunion of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) ’87 Law Class held over the weekend in Calabar, Akpabio shared his perspective on the current state of the nation.
“The hardships we are experiencing today are not a result of this administration,”
Akpabio remarked. “They are the outcome of years of mismanagement by previous governments.”
He continued, “A country that lacks fundamental infrastructure and fails to prepare for tough times is bound to be affected during global economic challenges, like the ones we are seeing now. However, the good news is that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we have hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel.”
Akpabio assured that the administration’s current efforts are focused on creating long-term benefits, saying, “The initiatives we are implementing today are for the future, not for immediate gains. Rest assured, this government will leave behind legacies that will secure a better tomorrow.”
