On Monday, a 36-year-old man named Samuel Kehinde was arraigned in the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued at N1,200,000.

Kehinde faces a two-count charge of felony and theft but has pleaded not guilty to the allegations.

Prosecutor Ayodele Adeosun informed the court that the accused committed the offenses on September 24 at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the Eyenkole Community of Ilogbo-Eremi, Badagry. Adeosun alleged that Kehinde conspired with others to commit the crime.

“He stole a motorcycle, registered as DX 167 QP, valued at N1,200,000, which belongs to Rabiu Semiu.

He was apprehended while attempting to sell the stolen motorcycle and subsequently handed over to the police for prosecution,” he stated.

The prosecutor noted that Kehinde’s actions violated Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya granted the defendant bail set at N300,000, requiring two sureties of the same amount. One of the sureties must be a civil servant in Lagos at Level 12.

The case is adjourned until November 5 for further mention.
