Gunmen assassinate PWD advocate in Abuja

An advocate for People With Disabilities (PWD), Bala Tsoho Musa, has been assassinated in his Bwari, Abuja, residence.

AFRIPOST gathered that the tragedy occurred early on Saturday, October 19.

Musa’s death was a “huge loss” for Nigeria’s disability community, according to Mohammed Isa, President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Special Needs and Equal Chances.

“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news of the sudden death of Comrade Bala Tsoho Musa, MFR. His tragic passing in his residence has left many of us heartbroken and devastated,” Isa said in a statement.

“Tsoho was known for his considerable commitment to advocacy for people with disabilities (PWDs).

“As a master metal worker at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Vocational Rehabilitation Centre, Kuchiko, he played an important role in vocational empowerment for PWDs.

“His dedication earned him the prestigious national honor of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) for his positive contributions to disability rights and national progress.

“His immense contributions to disability advocacy and empowerment will forever resonate in our hearts. His commitment to the upliftment of Persons with Disabilities is a legacy we will strive to uphold.”

The deceased “was a leader who inspired many and his work will be carried forward by those who shared his passion for justice and equality,” the aide added.
