BREAKING: DSS removes Tinubu’s Chief Security Officer

Must read

The Department of State Services (DSS) has officially removed Adegboyega Fasasi from his position as Chief Security Officer (CSO) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Fasasi has been succeeded by Rasheed Atanda Lawal, a Deputy Director, according to reports from The Nation.

As of Sunday evening, the reasons behind Fasasi’s removal remain unclear.

However, sources familiar with the matter indicated that the DSS Director-General, Tosin Ajayi, had sought President Tinubu’s approval for Fasasi’s release, allowing him to attend a strategic training course.

A source noted, “Typically, such a change in personnel occurs when the DSS appoints a new DG. Given the agency’s focus on intelligence and secrecy, the new DG tends to prefer working with trusted associates, especially in critical roles like the CSO to the President.”

As of now, the Presidency has not issued any official statement regarding this development.
