Put national grid on watchlist same way they put me on Immigration’s watchlist – Sowore

Must read

Nigerian human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore has berated the Nigerian government following the incessant collapse of the national grid.

The former Presidential candidate voiced his disappointment about the collapse as he revealed that he was once again being held and delayed in taking his flight from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by the Nigerian immigration service.

AFRIPOST reports that the Nigerian National Electricity Grid has experienced three consecutive collapses within two weeks, raising concerns about the stability of the country’s power infrastructure.

These repeated incidents have caused widespread power outages across various regions, heightening frustrations among citizens and businesses reliant on the national grid.

The recent collapses mark a significant setback for the nation’s electricity supply, and many are calling for urgent action to address the persistent issues plaguing the grid.

The situation has drawn comparisons to other areas of public management, with Omoyele Sowore remarking that the grid should be placed on a “watchlist” due to its frequent failures, much like how they have placed him on the Nigerian Immigration’s watchlist.

Omoyele Sowore wrote on his X (Twitter) page: “The Nigerian National Electricity Grid has experienced a distressing trifecta -HAT TRICK- with three dramatic collapses occurring in quick succession over the course of just two weeks. The NATIONAL GRID needs to be put on WATCHLIST the same way they’ve kept me on the Nigerian Immigration’s WATCHLIST! Useless people! #revolutionnow.”

The grid’s instability has fueled criticism of those managing the power sector, as the public continues to demand immediate solutions to prevent further collapses and ensure reliable electricity supply across the country.
