Three suspects, including a couple, have been arrested by 6 Brigade Nigerian Army troops for allegedly working with terrorists in Taraba State.
According to Captain Oni Olubo, the spokesperson for 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, the suspects were taken into custody at Lande Jessy village in the state’s Lau Local Government Area.
He said the three individuals were arrested as a result of an operation the forces conducted in response to an intelligence tip.
The Army spokesperson said that Ahijo Sulaiman, Abdulrahman Isah, and Aisha Mohammed are the three alleged collaborators.
Captain Oni disclosed that Mohammed, Sulaiman’s spouse, admitted during the inquiry that the latter’s home was utilised by bandits to conceal firearms following operations.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to the protection of lives and property, as well as the preservation of the nation’s territorial integrity.
“We urge the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies as we work together to rid the country of terrorism and other forms of insecurity.” Captain Oni said.
