In Onitsha, Anambra State, at least 36 alleged online scammers have been taken into custody at various places.
The suspects were arrested on Thursday according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) Enugu Zonal Command.
After actionable intelligence connected the individuals to alleged internet criminal activity, they were taken into custody on October 11, 2024.
According to information obtained, the suspects used social media sites to pose as foreign nationals in order to scam gullible victims.
Eight high-end cars and high-end computers and cell phone brands were among the items found inside.
As soon as the investigations are over, the suspects will face charges in court, according to the EFCC.
