Hit-and-run driver claims live of Motorcyclist on Lagos-Badagry expressway

A hit-and-run driver fatally struck a motorcyclist on Wednesday at the Limca bus stop section of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

According to William Manga, Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Badagry Unit, the accident occurred at 9:23 a.m.

The FRSC received an alert at 9:27 a.m. and their team arrived at the scene by 11:32 a.m.

Manga explained that the accident involved a Sino Truck and an Ajue Lady’s motorcycle.

The FRSC rescue team, which received the report from the Department of State Services, departed from their Mowo patrol point to the scene of the crash.

Tragically, the motorcyclist suffered fatal head injuries and was declared dead before the rescue team arrived.

The body was subsequently taken to the General Hospital’s mortuary in Badagry. Another individual involved in the accident was taken to the emergency center at Badagry Roundabout by Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) officials.

Manga noted that no items were recovered from the victims.

He urged pedestrians to exercise greater caution when crossing expressways and called on motorists to adhere strictly to speed limits and traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies.
