‘Be quiet and mind your own business’ – Oyedepo warn critics

Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church, also known as The Liberation Commission, has responded to public criticism over the retirement of two prominent bishops from the ministry.

AFRIPOST reports that Bishops Thomas Aremu and David Abioye, who have been with the church for decades, have just announced their retirement.

Many Nigerians opposed the church’s decision, questioning the timing and justification for the retirements.

However, during his sermon at Bishop Aremu’s valedictory ceremony, Oyedepo made it plain that the decision was consistent with the church’s long-standing operating rules.

He said that the principles, which included the church’s Administrative Policy of 1998, were amended in 2001 and improved again in 2024 under what is known as The Mandate.

According to Oyedepo, the policies are directed by divine decree and are not open to public examination.

Addressing the critics, Oyedepo advised them to “study to be quiet” and focus on their worries rather than interfering with the church’s internal affairs.

His words: “My advice to commentators is to learn to be quiet and mind their own business.” It is wise to study what works and why. Everything works here.”

He urged Bishop Aremu to stay linked to the church for continuous spiritual growth and grace but warned him not to be misled by harsh criticism.
